What is a Honeymoon Registry?

Do you already have all the cups, plates and silverware you need? Do you and your fiancé dream of a romantic getaway? Then a Honeymoon Registry is perfect for you!

A Honeymoon Registry is simply a gift registry where guests can contribute to a portion of your honeymoon. Thousands of couples have chosen a Honeymoon Registry because they already have a house full of the traditional wedding gifts and instead want to make memories that will last a lifetime. A Honeymoon Registry works similar to the traditional wedding gift registries at any major department stores.

How does a Honeymoon Registry work?

A Honeymoon Registry provides a service which allows you to register your honeymoon or destination wedding plans online. You receive a free wedding website, announcement cards, a guest message board, bridal shower games and gift announcement cards! Through the Honeymoon Registry, your guests can give you portions of your honeymoon vacation or destination wedding as a wedding gift! Instead of a "place setting for the table", you could receive a "romantic honeymoon dinner" or help with an "upgrade to a honeymoon suite" as a wedding gift. There are no set up fees to use this honeymoon bridal registry.

Why Use a Honeymoon Registry?

Using the honeymoon gift registry allows you to pre-plan what you want to do on your honeymoon or at your destination wedding. And, using a Honeymoon Registry is so much more personal than asking your guests outright for cash! Guests will choose something special that they would like to give you as a wedding gift. Unlike getting envelopes with checks in them at the wedding and then leaving the next day for your honeymoon trip, a Honeymoon Registry allows you to know ahead of time what you will have available for extras and upgrades on your honeymoon or destination wedding. You can even register, get the word out early and have gift money come in to help with the initial costs of the honeymoon trip as many of our wedding couples do.

Is the Honeymoon Registry difficult to set up?

Your honeymoon gift registry is so easy to set up and only takes about 15 minutes! We give you a list of honeymoon ideas you can choose from destinations all around the world. You can pick the items you want or add anything we don't have to your honeymoon registry with our "create your own wizard". No cookie cutter bridal registry lists or cartoons here! Each one is completely personalized by you and shows everything you want to do on your honeymoon or destination wedding with stunning photos for each item.

What does a honeymoon registry look like?

We pride ourselves on having beautiful pictures and detailed descriptions for every item on the honeymoon registry. What does it cost to use the Honeymoon Registry?

Again, there is no set up fee for the Honeymoon Registry. During the sign up process you will decide whether you'd like the 7% service charge on each transaction to be added or deducted from each gift amount. If a credit card is used to make a purchase, then a standard 3% credit card fee will be charged. (This fee goes directly to Electronic Merchant Systems not us and is for secure credit card processing for your guests.) The service charge covers your account management, your wedding web page, order processing, gift announcements, etc. This service fee eliminates other typical registry costs, such as shipping and gift-wrap charges. Announcement, shower games and gift cards are free, and can be downloaded at any time. The honeymoon registry saves your guests time and gas with the comfort and convenience of purchasing their gift from their home or office (they don’t even have to buy another card!). Guests from a distance can also give you a contribution towards your honeymoon with ease using their credit card over the internet, no shipping or lugging gifts with them to your wedding destination. Also, there is no hassle or embarrassment of returning or exchanging unwanted gifts for you!

How do we notify our guests about our Honeymoon Registry?

We provide downloadable announcements for you at no charge to let your friends and family know about your Honeymoon Registry (find under the link "Let Everyone Know".) Your bridal party and family are great ways to help your guests learn about your registry. We can send out an email announcing your registry to your selected email list. Your Matron of Honor can include an announcement in the Bridal Shower invitations, and make sure your family knows how special this is to you, ask them if they would suggest the Honeymoon Registry when guests ask what to get you. Get everyone involved and remember that your guests really want to get you something you truly want and will remember forever.

How am I notified of a purchase from my Honeymoon Registry?

You receive an email "Gift Announcement" that is filled out by the gift giver each time one of your guests makes a gift selection at your Honeymoon Registry. Your guests can also choose to print out this customized Gift Announcement with a personal message and a photo of what they selected on your honeymoon registry to hand to you at the wedding. You can log on to your account at anytime and go to "view gifts" to view your gift details, givers and the gift announcements. Guest can also post their gift announcement on your honeymoon registry under the "Well Wishes" section if they choose.

When will I receive my gifts from my honeymoon registry?

You can collect your wedding gifts anytime and as many times as you’d like, just by emailing us or going to the "Request Payment" link under "Manage your Gift Money" when you log in. You can collect your gifts by:

· Having a check mailed directly to you (regular US post, no additional fees)

· Via an ACH bank to bank transfer (no additional fees)

· Or you can use your PayPal account (can be service fees according to PayPal’s terms) - the choice is yours!

After you sign up, you can log in and then go to "manage my gift money" and select the method for which you would like to receive your gift monies. If you get busy and forget to request your gift money – your gift monies will be sent to you by your specified method 5 days before the wedding (or by an earlier date upon request) You can also choose overnight delivery of the check if you live within the USA. The overnight delivery charge is $21.00 (for M-F delivery) and is deducted directly from your total gift amount due.

Honeymoon Wishes provides all support and software for the Honeymoon Wishes, not Cruise Planners, and is solely responsible for collecting and distributing all gift monies.
